If you are on a mission to land safely in your next career, it does not need to be done alone. There are networks of individuals and businesses out there who have ways to help you. The purpose of this article is to share specifically how New Horizons may be able to help you.
Here are a few examples of how we support individuals during times of career transition:
Career Assessment and Consulting
Our Career Consultants are what makes our training for individuals successful. Our Career Consultants work together with students before, during, and after their New Horizons course(s). In the beginning, they provide free career assessment and consulting to potential students. Next, our Career Consultants help students review a variety of careers, ranging from project management, IT security, database administration, administrative, and countless others. They also help assess each student's skill level to help determine the best level to start the training; this is critical to ensure everyone begins at the pace that is right for their knowledge and experience.
Flexible Training Options
We understand each student has different learning needs and learning styles. As a result, we have combined many flexible training options which allow students to participate in scheduled live instructor-led online courses and online workshops. Regardless of what learning method is chosen and order of delivery, all course content comes from the same world-class training source material. We also have compressed durations for courses in order to assist you in achieving your knowledge needs in a shorter timeline than colleges and universities.
Tuition Funding Sources
During a change in one’s career direction, we recognize many individuals do not readily have funds for training. As a solution, in many cases, we can help find financial assistance for qualified students. We have a variety of available tuition funding sources, some of which you must qualify and apply for. Our Career Consultants help students identify the funding sources available and help determine which best suits each student's needs.
Highly Qualified Instructors
We are proud to say our courses are taught by the industry’s leading instructors. These are individuals who are proven experts in their field, certified in their course topic, and have taught for many years. More than teachers, our instructors are highly knowledgeable professionals that typically have 15 or more years of real-world experience working for leading companies.
Practice Exams and Certification Testing
Certifications remain highly valuable and relevant with today’s Hiring Managers; especially in the realm of IT. When submitting your resume for your next career, it’s important to be able to show you understand the concepts which were taught in the classroom. To best prepare for a successful exam, students utilize practice exams in order to gain comfort and experience before scheduling their exam. Once ready for the exam, our Career Counselors assist in locating an authorized testing vendor for Prometric, Pearson Vue and Certiport.
Career Placement Services
Here’s why we love what we do. Our Career Consultant’s assist our students with support in resume and cover letter development, resume distribution, assistance with setting up your LinkedIn profile, and interview coaching. Once prepped and ready, we supply job search assistance in order to help you find a role in your next career while enrolled in one of our programs. Seeing our students accept the job they’ve been working toward is what motivates and inspires us.
